Exploring Bullseye Tekta Sheet Glass: The Studio Essential

The Backbone of Every Glass Studio: Bullseye Tekta Sheet Glass

As a glass artist, having reliable, high-quality, and affordable materials is crucial to bringing your creative visions to life. This is where Bullseye Tekta Sheet Glass shines. Known for its versatility and excellent properties, Tekta is an essential addition to any studio. With an upcoming delivery in August, including the new White Tekta, let's dive into what makes this glass so special and how it can enhance your projects.

What is Tekta?

Tekta is a larger fusible sheet with no side ribbons clear produced by Bullseye Glass Co. As handy sheet it is 30.5cm square, which is larger than the traditional handy sheet at 29.5cmx 26cm and generally at the same cost. It is available in three main varieties:

Tekta Clear: Perfect for general use, providing a reliable and clear base for any project.

All varieties are lead-free and compatible with Bullseye's wide range of coloured glass products, making them ideal for fusing, kiln casting, and other glass art techniques.

Cold Characteristics

Tekta has a very faint green tint when viewed on edge but appears clear and unobtrusive, allowing your designs to shine without interference.

Working Notes

📝 Stability: Tekta is known for its stable characteristics, meaning there is no colour shift during the firing process.
📝 Brown-Orange Marks: Occasionally, you might notice brown-orange marks on Tekta sheets. These marks, caused by iron oxide from the lehr's metal conveyor belt during thermal cycling, usually come off easily with a Scotch Brite pad or a normal rag. In rare cases where they resist cleaning, they become virtually invisible once the glass is fully fused.

      Why Choose Tekta?

Bullseye Tekta Sheet Glass is the ultimate clear sheet glass for kilnforming. Here are some key benefits:

✅ Lead-Free and Compatible: Safe and versatile for all your glass art projects.

✅ Flatter and More Uniform: Ensures consistency in your work.
