Vetrofond is a Venetian glass no longer made.
Vetrofond was a manufacturer in Italy that matched Effetre's colour number and compatibility. The company is no longer manufacturing lampworking glass so all Vetrofond is now limited edition.
- This pale pink/rose glass, in its opaque format is very ordinary to look at.
In the flame it, it is quick to melt, but care must be taken not to overheat or scorch whilst in the heat.
In a neutral flame, this glass allows itself to be shaped and moulded using glass beadmaking tools and equipment.
These floral beads were made by hand but shaped with brass leaf tong to create the petal shapes.
Where the glass was pressed firmly, the surface becomes thin and translucent, allowing the light to pass through it.
I especially like the look of both opaque and translucent finishes on the one bead and I think this glass is perfect for flower making like these!
