Pumpkin Orange Striker Opaque Bullseye Rod 321
- Description
- Working Notes
-
All rods are 42cm in length and 4-5mm diameter. Bullseye is 90COE and isn't compatible with Effetre or Vetrofond Rods. The annealing Temperature range is 505- 520 Celsius.
Colours That Strike
Many glasses that Bullseye produces appear pale or even colourless in their cold form but “strike” or mature to a target colour when fired to the right temperature. These styles are marked with the symbol above.
It is not recommended for stained glass or mosaics as kiln is required to achieve the colour shown.
-
Striker
This style may not reveal (strike to) its target colour until fired.
Cold Characteristics
In cold rod form, the colour of 0321-0576 can vary even within the same production run.
Working Notes
This style is not suitable for kiln casting because it can become incompatible when held at high temperatures for an extended period. It may also become incompatible in instances where processes exceed the parameters of the test for compatibility. Testing is recommended when heat work exceeds these parameters.
Torch: This style may start as light orange, consistently developing a bright, squashy colour upon use in the flame. Depending on the colour of the bead when it is put away, a range of colours may be achieved. If this glass is put into an annealing kiln with a red hue, then a true pumpkin-orange colour will result in the finished piece. If it is very light orange as opposed to red and the desired result is a true pumpkin orange colour, gradually cool and reheat the glass without bringing it to a soft state, look for it to turn red and then put it into the annealing kiln.
Kiln: Lighter colour and greater opacity than in sheet glass form. Slight variation in colour with different production runs.
