Colours That Strike
Many glasses that Bullseye produces appear pale or even colourless in their cold form but “strike” or mature to a target colour when fired to the right temperature. These styles are marked with the symbol above.
Not recommended for Stain Glass or Mosaics as Kiln required to achieve colour shown
Compatible with COE090.
-
Striker
This style may not reveal (strike to) its target colour until fired.
Cold Characteristics
Appears transparent and clear in its cold form. Occasional wisps of white are possible.
Working Notes
Fusible / Bullseye-compatible.
Requires a full fuse to strike to a hazy, milky white that transmits warm-hued light. Transmitted light varies based on thickness: Thinner pieces result in a yellowish hue, and thicker pieces in a warmer almost orange hue. Opacity increases with extended heat work.
Overlay Information
Opaline has great potential to expand the colour palette in kiln forming because it can create new colours with distinct properties. For more information, see Opaline Overlays.
